CLAIMS ON THE SOUTHFORK OF THE CLEARWATER RIVER IN THE
GOLD RICH TENMILE MINING DISTRICT OF NORTH CENTRAL IDAHO
Claim(s) & Area Description:
These claims are each 20 acre unpatented placer claims (660’ x 1320’) located on the
Southfork of the Clearwater River.
They are located in the heart of a placer rich area with many gold rich streams feeding
into the Southfork of the Clearwater River above the location of these claims. There is
some lode gold eroded into the river from mineralized vein structures, but the primary
source has been reconcentrated alluvial gold found in ancient Tertiary gravels that has
eroded into the river.
Each of these claims have over 1000 feet of river frontage.
Current regulations in this area allow for seasonal suction dredging with proper permits.
Sluicing, high-banking, panning and basic prospecting is allowed as well.
These claims are accessible along a State maintained highway and a “no-fee” primitive
campground, maintained by the USFS is adjacent to the claims. A full amenities camp
ground with all hookups is available a few miles away.
The small town of Elk City has fuel stations, hot food, a well stocked grocery store and
emergency services just a few minutes up river from these claims.
